Students

Improved focus, mental health, and social interactions.

Teachers

Fewer disruptions, stronger engagement, and a better teaching environment.

Parents

Peace of mind knowing their children are in a supportive learning space.

What Is a Phone-Free School?

A phone-free school has a “first bell to last bell”policy that requires all personal electronic devices (cell phones, smartwatches, earbuds, AirPods, fitness trackers, and Bluetooth connected headphones, etc.) are turned off, securely locked away, and inaccessible for the entire school day.

This policy prioritizes students' academic performance, social-emotional learning, mental health, and overall safety.
OVERVIEW

What Does Phone-Free Actually Mean?

It's simple: personal devices stay off and secured during school hours. Phones, smartwatches, earbuds are all safely stored from the first bell to the last bell. This creates clear boundaries that help students focus on learning and connecting with each other.

All Day Coverage

Consistent engagement throughout the day

In class, between classes, at lunch; whenever students are on campus during school hours, devices stay secured. No confusion, no exceptions needed.

Secured, Not Just Silent

Truly out of reach

Devices are powered off and kept where students can't access them. Not hidden in backpacks or on silent, but properly set aside.

Families Stay Connected

Parents can reach students through the office for anything important; the same reliable system that worked for generations of healthy kids. Students can still make calls when they need to.

Why Should Phones Be Away All Day?

All Day is the only way to create actual change

THE BENEFITS ARE LIMITED

When they're off limits in class:

Icon

Academic outcomes improve

Distractions from phones interrupt learning, memory retention, and memory recall.
Icon

Less cheating

35% of students admit to using their cell phones to cheat
OUR KIDS DESERVE BETTER

No phones “All Day” benefits

Icon

Time outside the classroom is for learning too!

Engagement among peers at recess, between classes, and at lunch is essential for developing social and emotional skills.
Icon

Mid-class absenteeism decreases

Students using trips to the restroom to access phones has become a major problem for teachers.
Icon

Mental health improves

An all-day policy gives students roughly seven hours away from social media, which is linked to higher anxiety and depression with heavy use.
Icon

More focused and productive classroom time

Removing access between periods reduces task switching, so students can refocus faster when the lesson starts.
Icon

Teacher morale and retention go up

Teachers stop policing devices, getting back time and energy for engaged teaching.
Icon

Practicing independence

Keeping phones away gives students a safe space to solve problems and build confidence without constant parent contact.
Icon

Safety improves

There’s a dramatic decrease in discipline referrals, cyberbullying, physical fights, and privacy violations.

Schools are seeing results.

“Student engagement is up, discipline referrals are down, and teacher satisfaction is off the charts.”

Students need to follow adult instructions. Phones get in the way.
Phones can reveal a hiding place with light and sound.
Networks can jam when hundreds of students call and text.
Parents rushing to campus can slow first responders.
